“Start With A Prayer” has entered the Canadian Reggae Chart

Dancehall artist Karamanti – who is a citizen of Canada, although based in Jamaica – has just entered the Canadian Rebel Vibez Reggae Chart with her tune Start with a Prayer. The song is the first single from her recently released album, Spiritual Warfare, published in December 2021 via her own Blakkwuman22 Music label.

The rhythm for Start with a Prayer was created by Old Harbour based music house AudioTraxx Productions, which is headed up by the talented Lamar ThompsonStart with a Prayer is a hardcore dancehall track that is presented as a form of devotion. On the record Karamanti literally prays for the so called gangsters who are taking innocent lives, the countless young men and women who are clearly lost and confused, and everything in between.

In addition to being the lead single from the Spiritual Warfare album, Start with a Prayer is also one of four songs featured on the Restart Riddim; a dancehall compilation that also has music from Peppery, I-Talawah and Sherida Sharpe. The Restart Riddim is also on the Blakkwuman22 Music imprint.

“Life 101 Riddim” is back on all streaming platforms

A few years ago we pulled down several of our songs and albums from all streaming platforms because we were working on setting up our own distribution. Now that we’ve been able to do that, we are slowly re-releasing the records.

To that end, we have just re-added the “Life 101 Riddim” to all DSPs. This dancehall compilation, which was originally released in 2016, features: Lt. Stitchie, Karamanti, Alozade, Andi-ites and Hiawondah.
