Lion Face I-Talawah records on BW22’s “Restart Riddim”

In a few weeks Blakkwuman22 Music, the record label owned and operated by dancehall artist Karamanti, will release the Restart Riddim. This is a hardcore dancehall juggling that will feature new music from various artists. Among those that will be on the project is popular Jackson Town deejay Lion Face I-Talawah.

Lion‘s new song will be a follow up to his now trending single, Survivor, which was shared earlier in the year on the Mountain Top Riddim (Haile Cush Records). Although that compilation featured mega stars like Jah Mason and Fantan Mojah, it was Lion Face‘s Survivor that captured the attention of the masses.

In an effort to maintain the momentum, two days ago Lion Face joined Karamanti in the studio and recorded a powerful song titled Truth. On the record, the hardcore lyricist touched on everything from the lowest form of poverty to the highest form of corruption; all while highlighting his Rastafarian faith.

Mutabaruka ft. Karamanti’s song “Black Love”

There was a lot of talk in the Jamaican media this week after the trimming of a 19 year old Rastafarian woman by a police officer came to light. Apparently the young woman, who was in police custody at the time, was trimmed against her will.

On his radio program, Mutabaruka spoke extensively about the story while playing songs that were appropriate to the situation. One such song was Karamanti‘s Black Love. Click on the image above to hear a snippet from the show and click here to listen and download the full song.
